Connecting to the Future: Books to Action

In the summer of 2025 we launched an innovative program for rising 10th through 12th graders. We facilitated a book club with 9 local teens discussing social justice issues and our community. Students then created a service learning project just for Norristown and implemented it with support from college student mentors and NPT staff. The students also presented the service project to members of our community and earned Student Service Awards of $250 each! Our program ended by helping students turn their experiences into a college essay and/or included it on their resume and cover letter.
